The Saturday before Easter was the community Easter Egg Hunt. This was Geek Girl's first public egg hunt and unfortunately it didn't go as well as she had hoped. She was grouped with the 7 - 11 year olds. The eggs were distributed in the woods and we couldn't tell how far back they went. Both Daddy Geek and I advised her to run as far as she could and then start picking the eggs up. However, she just wasn't fast enough and the bigger kids were scooping them up faster than she was. She was quite sad that the other kids "weren't sharing the eggs". Fortunately our apartment building also had an Easter Egg hunt and she was a little more successful in that one.
That afternoon Daddy Geek and Girl Geek went for a long hike from Difficult Run to Great Falls National Park and back. She is such a good trooper. Daddy Geek estimates it was about 6.5 to 7 miles and it took them about four hours. Great job Girl Geek!
Here are some pictures from their hike.
Girl Geek by the river.
Some pretty bluebells.
Remember when we went on the Billy Goat Trail and there was that face we climbed up? Here it is from the other side of the river. Doesn't look so steep from here.
Daddy Geek and Girl Geek. (Note his Swiss manpris.)
Geek Girl slept very well that night.
